Welcome to Morning Practice Group (MPG), a teaching and learning forum geared to local, professional dancers and performance artists residing in Newfoundland and Labrador. This is a space to invest in dance, and other performing artists’ practices, and to reconnect with peers with “studio time”. These sessions will take place online and/or in-person (depending on revolving COVID restrictions). MPG is produced and facilitated by Neighbourhood Dance Works (NDW) with the support of Canadian Heritage, the Canada Council for the Arts and the Province of Newfoundland and Labrador.
The MPG Facilitator will be expected to plan and lead a dance, movement, or somatic class of their choosing with a group of participants who pre-register with NDW. The MPG Facilitator will, to the best of their ability, adapt their material to ensure inclusivity and equal access to the material.
Whether online or in-person, there will be a streaming aspect to include folks from other cities (Corner Brook and St. John's so far) and/or folks who are choosing to stay at home to practice. These sessions may be recorded for documentation processes, not for public sharing. NDW will provide secure Zoom links for each session, as well as administrative support and promotion.
Stay tuned for the next MPG!
